The Role

Are you GAS safe registered or willing to obtain this certification? Do you possess relevant experience in mechanical maintenance post-apprenticeship? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

As a Building Services Supervisor with a mechanical bias, you will play a vital part in maintaining the functionality and safety of our facilities. Your mechanical expertise and dedication will contribute to creating a comfortable and efficient environment for our research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct repairs on heating systems, cold water, DHW, and drainage.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain gas-fired district and central heating systems and boilers.
  • Assist with electrical fault finding related to mechanical work.
  • Provide general building service and site support tasks.

The Person:

  • Qualified in mechanical engineering to City and Guilds standard.
  • Some experience in electrical fault finding related to mechanical work.
  • Proficiency in general building service and site support tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to join an on-call rota system.
  • Capability to drive company vehicles when required.
