Morson Talent is currently recruiting for the position of Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation Technician to join the team at a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station in Lincolnshire. This role involves being an essential part of the maintenance team, responsible for conducting planned and reactive maintenance tasks on all EC&I assets throughout the power station to ensure smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform fault finding, repair work, and both planned and unplanned maintenance on various E,C&I assets to optimize plant availability. This includes handling pressure, level, temperature, and flow sensors, as well as managing the site's control systems (DCS and PLCs, etc.), along with electrical components such as motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, and select HV plant elements.
  • Collaborate closely with other Technicians and Engineers to develop and adhere to an accurate daily maintenance schedule.
  • Engage in plant improvement projects and upgrades alongside the site engineering team.
  • Offer support during site outages/shutdowns when necessary.
  • Maintain precise records through the utilization of the site's CMMS.
  • Supervise and coordinate site contractors as and when required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a time-served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field like electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent.
  • Possession of a relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC level or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in electrical/C&I maintenance, including familiarity with drives, motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, instrumentation, etc., gained within heavy engineering environments like power plants, refineries, paper mills, steelworks, chemical sites, etc.
  • While familiarity with HV systems is advantageous, it's not a strict requirement.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to health and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team and foster collaborative working relationships.
