Electronic Design Engineer – Ulverston or Edinburgh
Salary – £35k – £45k + Pension + Share + 33 days holidays
Our client are a leading Technology company who produce a range of Subsea products for the offshore oil and gas industry. The company are a high-technology business dedicated to providing the most reliable imaging and ancillary equipment for use in underwater applications. The company are looking for ambitious Electronic Design Engineer to be based at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ulverston or Edinburgh office.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work with Sonar Technology as this combines both state of the art electronic hardware and firmware, with product designs that are capable of withstanding full ocean-depth pressures.
The company’s cutting edge technology has been adopted as the preferred choice in an expanding variety of sub-sea applications; from large scale mining projects to micro ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) performing vital search and rescue operations.
As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will have responsibility for designing, developing and supporting the company’s range of electronic products. You will be working with the company’s customers to provide innovative solutions to meet their needs.
What will make you stand out is your ability to develop a strong working relationship in this customer facing role with both your internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and preferably, prior experience in a similar role and will be able to work to a very advanced technical level often on their own initiative with limited supervision.
If you are well organised, action orientated and results driven then we would like to hear from you, due to the nature of the role, there may be a requirement for international travel so you must hold a valid Passport with no restrictions to working abroad as well as a full clean Driver’s license.
Skills and Experience
Degree in Electronics/Electronic Engineering/Computing, or equivalent is preferred,
Experience in Embedded Software/Firmware Development: C, C++, VHDL
New product inception, definition and design
Embedded Hardware and System Conception & Design Digital and analogue circuit design
Experience and Knowledge of working in a customer-facing environment with subsea sensor equipment would be advantageous.
