Job Title: Engineering Technician

Location: Aberdeen Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week, Permanent Position

Salary: Up to £32,000 + Benefits (depending on experience, training, and qualification)

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in the Engineering department. This is a full-time role requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern.

Key Requirements:

  • Current Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at the appropriate level of qualification. If electrically qualified, a current Electro-technical Certification Scheme (ECS) Card is required (Persons without the appropriate card will not be considered).
  • City & Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Willingness to act as AP and RP Medgas as required is essential.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical biased discipline is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety guidelines, statutes, and ACOPs.
  • Understanding of L8 Legionella ACOP within Hospital buildings.
  • Demonstrated high level of organization and time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Sound fault-finding techniques and ability to read drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the prompt completion of all work orders for Planned maintenance, Reactive response, Specialist sub-contract work orders, and remedial work orders.
  • Provide Routine and Specialized Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to the hospital site.
  • Offer competent Technical, Health, Safety, and Environmental support & assistance, acting as an exemplar of company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and hands-on assistance to Site-based Technicians or Engineering Assistants.
  • Provide Engineering support and advice to Local Hospital managers as required.
  • Demonstrate a can-do culture based on exemplary engineering standards in an environment of open and honest integrity.
  • Help build and develop a strong team ethos.
  • Work at any Circle Health Group Hospital within the cluster to cover for engineering absence or to supplement labor, attend meetings, or to provide specialist advice or service to the site (e.g. AP duties, Mechanical, Electrical, or Air Con duties) to ensure continued effective operational coverage.
