Job Description

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the identification, development and negotiations of sales opportunities within the Oil & Gas and Marine markets in order to generate profitability and sustainable growth. Whilst the primary focus for the jobholder is to generate substantial new business from Oil & Gas projects, competing for and winning business from existing customers and prospects is also a critical requirement.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and convert sales prospects to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Influence EPCs and End Users
  • Maximise face to face time with Customers through extensive travelling and continuous communication
  • Work closely with the International Business Development Team to deliver common goals
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of business development activity
  • Identify new customers, end-users and influencers
  • Maintain exceptional client relationships whilst optimising the potential of new revenue channels
  • Develop robust order forecast and opportunity management processes
  • Proactively engage the resources of the business to deliver winning proposals
  • Ensure Synectics has a comprehensive understanding of all clients and future prospects
  • Provide an insight into market dynamics, specifically competitors, stakeholders, market and product trends
  • Contribute to the development of sector specific marketing proposition that grows sales and identifies how the service offering can be differentiated from the competition.
