What does the role involve?

EMBS Engineering is in partnership with an engineering company located in Nuneaton that manufactures a range of different engineering technologies to create and develop specialist components. Due to our client's increased workload, following huge excessive sales already next year over-achieving their annual target, they are looking to expand their quality department and are therefore looking for a Quality Technician to join their growing team and support with new and exciting projects.

This role will predominantly support the quality department with internal activities related to part inspection. You will prepare and record inspection reports and all related documentation in line with company requirements.

Key responsibilities as a Quality Technician include;

  • Creating inspection reports - CofCs, FAIRs, NCR
  • Review non-conformance of parts
  • PPAP processsing
  • Update SOPs
  • Review inspection of parts from suppliers to ensure they conform
  • Perform Equipment TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) for calibration of measuring equipment
  • Update the quality system
  • Inspection of parts using manual standard gauging as well as CMMs

What experience do you need?

  • Strong experience in metrology
  • Apprentice trained or time served within precision engineering
  • Confidence reading technical drawings and interpreting geometric features/tolerances, balloon drawings, 3D designs etc
  • Experience in ISO certifications
  • Understanding of management systems (ISO9001/14001)
  • Inspected small to medium-sized detailed components which have been supplied into; Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Petrochemical, Defence etc
  • Worked with various materials including; aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron
  • Ability to manually measure parts using conventional equipment - shadowgraphs, verniers, micrometres etc
  • Complete inspection reports
  • Knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, composites, assembly and a wide variety of manufacturing inspection processes
  • Internal Auditing experience would be advantageous

Candidates who have worked as a CMM Programmer, Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, Quality Manager or a role of a similar nature where quality and CMM are a core part of your role are encouraged to apply.
