RF DIGITAL WAVEFORM DESIGN ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - VIA UMBRELLA - 55 PR HOUR - SC CLEARED - 12 MONTHS - STEVENAGE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for an RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer to work an initial 12 month deal from their site in Stevenage.

This role involves working on a new seeker with a fast-paced program within a dynamic team to develop high-speed circuits. The ideal candidate should have broad skills in mixed-signal electronic design, an appreciation of radar systems, and a good understanding of programmable devices (FPGAs/CPLDs). Enthusiasm and determination to deliver products to the right standard within the required timescales are essential.

Responsibilities: As the chosen Mixed-Signal Electronic Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Rapid design and development of analogue & high-speed digital circuits for multimode seeker applications.
  • Performing development tests and integration activities on circuits and sub-assemblies in accordance with relevant processes, standards, and requirements.
  • Producing and maintaining test documentation associated with seeker hardware, including specifications, development test schedules, and test result sheets.
  • Interacting with internal customers and suppliers to understand circuit design requirements, volume constraints, and environmental specifications.
  • Overseeing the transition of development hardware into series production, including robustness testing and qualification testing.
  • Conducting technical investigations to provide data for problem assessment, design improvements, and support the development of solutions to technical issues.
  • Providing technical advice and assistance to the engineering manager.

Skillset/Experience Required: The successful candidate must have experience in the following:

  • Analogue & High-speed Digital Circuit Design.
  • Design, Simulation & Layout using Zuken.
  • FPGA/CPLD Circuit Design and Simulation using Xilinx ISE, Vivado, Libero, and others.
  • Design proving test and trials in the laboratory.
  • Diagnosing hardware problems using various methods (visual inspection, signal/data analysis).
  • Knowledge of mixed-signal board techniques.
  • Awareness of manufacturing techniques and capabilities.
  • Appreciation of mechanical design & module packaging.
  • Clear understanding of engineering tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with design tools including Zuken, Orcad, LTSpice, and others.
  • Writing high-quality test requirements and test reports.
  • Generating plans of activities.
  • Consistent ability to deliver required output within agreed timescales.
  • Ideally degree qualified or equivalent with modules relating to RF or electronics.
  • Building good working relationships with team members, external departments, suppliers, and customers.
  • Some experience of product lifecycles from concept through to production.

Desirable:

  • Radar experience with hardware implementation.
