Senior Land Surveyor
My client is a very well-respected firm of Chartered Land Surveyors and Geospatial Engineers with an excellent reputation established over 30 years in business. Based in Telford, Shropshire they focus on providing an innovative and professional service to clients over a wide range of market sectors in the UK and overseas. These market sectors include; rail and road, urban and rural development, transport infrastructure etc.

They have a dynamic and cohesive team of Surveyors and Senior Surveyors who have a wide range of survey skills and are looking to expand this team and provide exciting and rewarding opportunities for a Senior Land Surveyor. You will have the opportunity to work additional hours and earn up to £6,500 in overtime pay.

As a Senior Land Surveyor, you will be travelling to various sites across the UK, always working as part of a small, friendly, dynamic team of surveyors. You will travel in a company vehicle and often work away being provided with hotel accommodation, food and other tax-free allowances. You will also be working in my client's Telford offices, again using cutting edge equipment.
You will have a professional Degree/HND/HNC qualification in Geomatics/Engineering Surveying / a RICS accredited subject, or a related subject such as geophysics, geology, geography, geotechnology and earth sciences. Planning, surveying or construction degrees are of interest.
As Senior Land Surveyor you will typically have 5 - 8 years' experience and proven experience of managing small scale projects. In particular you will have the following experience:
- Ensuring sub-contractors are suitably equipped and qualified to perform required tasks
- Support and provide opportunity for development activities for others
- Delegate tasks appropriately and to the lowest possible level
- Support the induction of new starters
- Monitor and control attendance and working hours against performance and well-being, and escalate concerns to line managers as required
- Contribute to safety communications
- Act on Investors in People assessment feedback
Salary offered for a Senior Land Surveyor will depend upon your experience and knowledge of Surveying/Geomatics.
You will be hands on with the latest surveying equipment and technology, BIM applications & GIS as well as relevant processing software packages. Therefore, you will need to have excellent IT skills, be highly numerate and have a strong attention to detail. You will also need good organisational and time management skills to enjoy this career.

Your Surveying background could be in any of the following: Land Surveying, Geomatics, Surveying and Mapping Sciences, Geographic Information/ Data Science, Mapping & Geospatial Data Science, Surveying, Mapping & GIS, CAD Engineering, Land / Geomatics Surveying or Land Surveying Engineer.
