GTC are part of a family of companies owned by BUUK Infrastructure group and we are currently recruiting for a full time Trainee Multi Utility Tendering & Design Assistant to be based at our office in Bellshill, Scotland.
In this role you will assist the team in ensuring accurate designs of gas, water, electrical and fibre networks are produced, taking in to account the needs of our customers along with all relevant health and safety/risk assessments. Full Training on our systems and company will be provided but previous knowledge of using CAD software would be an advantage.
This position would be ideally suited to a recent engineering Graduate or someone looking for a new challenge in the Multi Utility market. While it is not essential that you have had previous experience within this sector before, you must have a willingness to learn and be able to demonstrate a very good understanding of computer systems. A confident telephone manner is required.
The Trainee Multi Utility Design Assistant is responsible for ensuring that all points of connections to the existing utility infrastructure are applied for and kept in date for the Tendering & Design Engineers to produce the accurate costings and design for the projects. They will also be responsible for the update of the Water as laid drawings for submission to Scottish Water.
Further responsibilities will include -
- Gas and electric point of connection applications
- Speak with customers when enquiries are made before it is allocated to the Tendering / Design Engineer
- Liaise with the Regional Design Manager to agree priority of works to meet program delivery dates and targets
- Producing water as laid drawings on CAD for submission to Scottish Water and ensuring these are accurately tracked
- Assist the team with emergencies where required
