This respected and established consultancy is a leading provider of utility surveying services, specializing in the accurate detection and mapping of underground utilities. They are seeking an experienced Utility Surveyor to join our team, focusing on PAS128 standards and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) use. Key Responsibilities:
Utility Detection and Mapping: Utilize Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and other surveying equipment to accurately detect and map underground utility infrastructure, including gas, water, electricity, telecommunications, and sewage systems.
PAS128 Compliance: Ensure all surveys are conducted in strict adherence to PAS128 standards, maintaining the highest levels of data quality and consistency.
Data Collection and Analysis: Proficiently collect, record, and analyze utility data, providing detailed reports and maps that meet PAS128 specifications.
Safety and Compliance: In accordance with RAMS, implement best practices and comply with health and safety regulations to prevent damage, accidents, and injuries related to underground utilities.
Client Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and clients to understand their specific surveying needs and provide clear communication on utility locations and potential conflicts with construction plans.
Problem-Solving: Address challenges related to utility detection and mapping, adapting to changing site conditions and finding innovative solutions.
Equipment Operation: Demonstrate expertise in operating surveying equipment, including GPR, and stay updated with technological advancements in the field.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor with a strong emphasis on managing own workload in accordance with company and client requirements and deadlines
- At least two years of UK based experience conduction Utility Surveys unsupervised
- Proficiency in using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment and associated software for utility detection.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data management and map creation.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and permits especially PAS128.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A commitment to safety and a track record of safe working practices.
Education and Certification:
- A relevant degree or qualification in surveying or a related field is preferred, however significant experience is greatly valued too.
- Certification in the use of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment is a requirement of the role.
