Energy Climate Change Lead
Location: London
Full time Staff Position
This role will be focused on the implementation and assurance of the Energy & Climate Change Standard within the Oil assets portfolio.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Champion effective and efficient management of energy use, promotion of reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and management of associated climate risks and opportunities across the Oil Industrial Assets portfolio.
- Support development and implementation of asset physical and operational boundaries and associated baselines relating to energy, emissions and risk.
- Ensure climate change risks and opportunities are identified, assessed, treated and monitored across the Oil Industrial Assets portfolio.
- Support development and implementation of energy and emissions management plans and associated targets across the Oil Industrial Assets portfolio.
- Develop and implement Departmental processes for the routine monitoring and aggregation of asset-level performance, review biannually, and report annually to Corporate on progress.
- Coordinate development of asset marginal abatement cost curves (MACCs) for GHG emission reduction opportunities, and develop resulting consolidated Departmental MACCs
- Integrate emission reduction opportunities into the Life of Asset planning process.
- Participate in relevant Corporate workgroups and Communities of Practice
- Monitor industry positions and emerging developments in the energy and climate change space, advising the business of strategic direction.
Your Background and Experiences:
- Extensive experience (15 years) in energy & climate change within the oil and gas or petrochemicals industry.
- In-depth knowledge of oil business operations, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience in risk assessment tools and techniques applicable to Oil operations.
- Proven experience in driving delivery and continuous improvements across multiple assets globally.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in complex operating environments.
- Excellent written and communication skills with proven experience of engaging and influencing a range of stakeholders.
- Experience in procuring external services (writing Scope of Work, etc.) is beneficial.
