Our client based in Plymouth is a well-established leading manufacturer of precision engineering equipment used in some of the world's most challenging environments.
Their high tolerance safety critical products can be found in various regulated markets such as Naval Marine, Nuclear, Renewable Energy and Oil & Gas.
With a solid outlook towards the future and a full order book they are seeking an enthusiastic motivated Assembly Technician to join their team.
An Assembly Technician is an essential role within the company.
This is often the last stage of production where it is essential that all products are assembled, tested and packed to the stringent standards set by our demanding customers.
If you are mechanically minded, have a keen eye for detail, and are able to solve problems, this could be the perfect role for you. Your duties will include:
Inspect issued parts against a bill of materials
Complete a dry build on complex mechanical assemblies
Perform functional testing to customer standards
Prepare & paint assembles to customer specification
Pack to specific customer requirements
Strip, inspect and survey any repairs
Rebuild and test when fault is remedied
Candidates will need to be able to:
Read basic engineering drawings and understand work instructions.
Use basic measuring tools and equipment
Be able to solve mechanical problems
Work as part of an integrated production team
Have a very keen eye for detail
Be quality focused with right first-time approach
Ideally you will have:
Good practical mechanical experience
Hydraulic or pneumatic experience
Worked previously in a manufacturing, or production environment or assembly environments.
Worked with tight tolerance or safety critical parts.
Salary level is in a band from £25 - 30,000 depending on experience but there is also plenty of training and career progression within this growing group.
