My client have been in the HVAC industry for over 40 years now. We specialise in commercial chillers, boilers and air conditioning. In the last 10 years, we have also moved with the industry into FM services.

They have recently experienced growth in a new sector within our industry which we are calling Energy Centre Services. We have been working for a major player in the energy centre business and have been servicing 16 sites this year with the number of sites and services we offer due to increase year on year. This sector of the business has performed exceptional well over the last 12 months and because of this we are looking to recruit dedicated engineers to help meet our increasing workload.

We therefore would like to recruit a mobile combustion & mechanical engineer to help in the running of this sector.
Most of the sites are in Greater London and we believe a dedicated team is the correct approach to meet our customer's needs. This team will also be backed up by our mobile Heating, Chiller and AC engineers as and when required.

An eye for detail and quality is important to ensure we deliver the best for our client.

Some of the duties included are:
• To carry out planned maintenance within plant room areas
• Working around Central London, The West End, The City of London & home counties
• Responding to reactive call outs and attending site to fix
• Combustion duties: Servicing a wide range of commercial gas boiler from 250KW to 10 MW, to SFG & Manufactures recommendations, whilst seeking to improve efficiency and reliability. Servicing associated equipment such as gas boosters, plate heat exchangers, flues, gas detection /safety systems etc.
• Mechanical duties: pump overhauls, pressurisation units servicing, valve and pipework repairs, cooling tower testing, vibration analysis, fixing leaks, HIU servicing, belt and pully alinement checks, fault finding, chiller checks, water treatment / temperature monitoring and constantly look for ways to reduce the overall cost of the production
• Electrical Duties: motor testing, BMS monitoring, meter checks, fault finding and constantly look for ways to reduce the overall cost of the production
• Servicing AHU's, FCU's, HIU's, chillers, pumps, invertors, cooling towers, adiabatic coolers, underfloor heating, pipework and a good working knowledge of all other M&E & HVAC
• Good understanding of L8/Legionella
• Be a good problem solver and ability to fault find and rectify
• Manage subcontractors and the company's other technical resources
• Oversee Health & Safety in line with our client's systems
• Develop quotations for additional works and repairs as required
One of our key selling points is that we don't just go through the motions with planned maintenance we look for ways to continue improve asset performance. We have some of the best market leading optimisation software, that really stands us apart from our competition which is important, but we need the best engineers onboard to help us find and deliver these results.
One of your first job will be to familiarise yourself with each site and assist in asset verification. Implementing a full and accurate PPM and asset management system is something want all our engineer involved in, so you understand the importance of what we are trying to achieve. Several of the sites are newly constructed, so they are bound to have some teething problems and snagging to deal with, part of our role is to assist our client during this phase. Our remit is within the energy centre and services up to apartments, retail spaces, leisure facilities etc. within the complex.

Skills & qualifications required:
• A time served mechanical / electrical apprenticeship
• Commercial gas qualifications
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a commercial gas engineer
• Confident work on all type and sizes of boilers
• Mechanical experience to confidently work on pipework and related equipment
• Confident in carrying out pump overhauls including bearing changes, seal replacements
• NHC HND (desirable)
• Previous experience in the Building Services environment
• IT literate and be comfortable working with an electronic works management system (CAFM) (essential)
• Be a good problem solver and ability to fault find and rectify
• Have good technical knowledge whilst also being able to be the face of the company and able to speak with clients when required
