Compliance Manager (Gas, Heating, Water & Lifts) - Housing / Property

If the answers are 'yes', then our client has the opportunity for a Compliance Manager (Gas, Heating, Water & Lifts) to join their Compliance and Health & Safety Team!

Reporting to their Head of Health & Safety (People and Property), you will be responsible for ensuring they comply with relevant statutory and regulatory obligations in Gas & Heating Safety, Capital Heating Programme, Safety of Hot and Cold Water Systems and Lift & Lifting Equipment Safety. You will also deliver long term maintenance and reinvestment programmes that inform the business plan to ensure that their assets are effectively managed and provide value for money for the organisation and its customers.

The contracts under your control will be well managed, in accordance with budgetary and operational performance requirements, and you will play a key role in shaping their approach to building safety.

This is a key management role and presents an excellent opportunity for the right person to develop technical and leadership skills, supported by their management development programme, within in an ever-changing statutory and regulatory environment.

About you

They are looking for an experienced compliance professional with excellent knowledge of housing compliance related legislation, regulatory requirements, sector challenges and best practices including:

  • Demonstrable understanding of gas safety legislation and best practice within social housing, including gas servicing, maintenance & repair programmes.

  • Demonstrable understanding of water safety legislation and best practice including domestic and non-domestic Legionella risk assessment and schemes of control.

  • Demonstrable understanding legislation and best practice applicable to lifts and lifting equipment safety.

  • Good knowledge and experience of non-gas heating systems and requirements including electric, solid fuel, air and ground source heat pumps and solar thermal.

Good IT and communication skills are also essential as is a confident and flexible approach and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.

Qualifications required for the role:

  • Level 4 VRQ Gas Safety Management in Social Housing or relevant equivalent experience.

  • Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) Gas Qualification.

  • CCNI, CENWAT, CKRI, HTRI, CPAI Certificates.

  • CITB SMSTS or SSSTS.

  • A relevant technical/ building qualification to Level 4 or above.

  • Gas Safe registration.

  • Full UK driving license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
