This position is responsible for ensuring that allocated project workscopes are constructed to the agreed schedule and to the required safety and quality standards. In addition you will manage regular construction coordination and progress meetings, and ensure that all workscopes are performed in accordance with client QHSE policies and procedures. This role is based at the our clients office in Norwich; working hours are Monday to Friday. There will also be a requirement to travel to our offshore assets and onshore gas processing terminals to perform the outlined roles and responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include
Active support of all QHSE policies and procedures.
Take responsibility for and co-ordinate all construction related activities.
Ensure all regular construction coordination and progress meetings are appropriately arranged and attended by required personnel.
Direct and supervise Construction Contractors.
Manage construction activities to deliver project in line with schedule and key milestones.
Where identified participate in the Project MOC (Management of Change) requirements.
Participate in all Kick Off and review meetings during different phases of preparation e.g. Construction, PHSSER, Constructability Reviews, HAZID's etc.
Inspect and review project construction activities to ensure continuous compliance with applicable legislation / regulations and safety codes.
Maintain effective lines of communication with all project stakeholders.
Effectively manage change on site relating to construction activities (site queries).
Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained productively.
Review method statements and lifting plans to ensure appropriate / efficient construction methods, prior to submission to Area Authority for work control (Permit to Work).
Requisition sundry supplies and materials to complete construction activities.
Monitor man-hour expenditure against estimates and validate progress.
Ensure effective implementation of quality control.
Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
Ensure efficient coordination of commissioning activities.
Manage the preparation, review and operations approval of construction work packs in a timely manner and in line with the construction schedule.
Manage the preparation and completion of all handover certification (GOC) through to mechanical completion and handover for pre-commissioning.
HNC qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Minimum of 8 years' experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
Experience of construction management, Offshore or Onshore including:
o Control of Work (P2W)
o Safe Isolation and Reinstatement of Plant
o Operational Risk Assessment
o Joint Integrity
o Management of Change
