An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical & Instrumentation Project Officer within our Major Projects Team in Scotland.

You will be part of a team working to successfully deliver gas infrastructure projects including transmission pipelines and above-ground installations all over Scotland.

Joining a team of experienced engineers and project managers, as a Project Officer you will be developed in the role and supported by line managers and mentors through a training and development plan. There is potential to progress further as you demonstrate your skills. Candidates with relevant experience may have the opportunity to enter above the starting salary.

What will you be doing day to day?

  • Project & Financial Management of projects from initial scoping to commissioning and handover to asset owners.
  • Onsite supervision and monitoring of construction activities to ensure compliance with Legislation and Policies.
  • Coordination of project related activities and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel is essential in this role and projects are based all over Scotland with main offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow when not in construction phase. You may also be required to visit locations around the UK for training or to support team activities.

What you'll need

  • A recognised engineering qualification and experience of working in an engineering, construction or gas / Petro-Chemical environment in an E&I field.
  • Construction and/or Project Management experience, ideally working on UK Gas distribution/transmission networks is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and explosives Atmospheres Regulations) and Hazardous Areas
  • Great communication with strong interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving
  • While not essential, ideally hold the following: City & Guilds 2391(Inspection & Testing), City & Guilds 2382(BS7671 - 18TH Edition), COMPEX 1-4 and any other relevant industry qualifications.
  • Full and clean UK Driving Licence
