Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience after degree or apprenticeship.
  • Must have demonstrable experience working on designs for hazardous area installations
  • CompEX EX01-EX04 or EX12 modules would be advantageous but not essential
  • Atex protection concepts awareness and experience applying them to electrical designs is essential
  • Expertise in LV Distribution Systems
  • Proficiency with systems up to 415v, including transformers, generators, UPS, and earthing experience.
  • Experience in gas analytical and metering systems is beneficial
  • Adherence to electrical installations complying with BS7671 (18th Edition) is essential.
  • Experience with Amtech, calcs and fault-finding is essential.
  • Keen interest in R&D projects and personal development are highly valued.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Design: Develop precise drawing and document packs, enhancing existing ones with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Calculations: Execute various calculations accurately, encompassing cable, I.S Loop, AC/DC load, lighting, and thermal capacity.
  • Guidance & Representation: Mentor EC&I design engineers while confidently representing the company in client-facing scenarios.
  • Collaborative Stance: Collaborate closely with site-based and commissioning engineers, contributing to holistic project perspectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimisation: Identify gaps and suggest improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Commissioning Support: Offer expertise during pre-FAT and FAT phases with EC&I-related matters.

Pay Information

Salary: Up to £65kper annum

Working hours: 40 hours per week - flexi

Holiday Pay: 25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday

Pension Entitlement: 3% employer, 5% employee

Hybrid working: This role is predominantly based in their Ellesmere Port based workshop / office with occasional site visits required. Up to 2 days working from home.

Death in service: 2 x annual salary
