The role

As a Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be a core member of the Mechanical Building Services team, supporting operational groups, delivering design solutions and technical authority responsibilities to the business.

Day to day, your primary focus will be maintaining and controlling modifications to, and deviations from, the design intent of nuclear implicated and non-nuclear mechanical building services and acting as the custodian of reference design documentation.

Responsibilities also include:

Work primarily with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, domestic water services, industrial gases, steam & condensate systems and local exhaust ventilation.
Responsible for undertaking and reviewing design activities from requirements capture, design development, implementation and close out, to through-life support, decommissioning and disposal.
Focused on ensuring compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions, statutory legislation and design codes/standards, producing design guidance, substantiation and analyses and delivering against agreed budgets/timescales.

This role is full time 36 hours and will be based at on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Mechanical Building Services Engineer:

You will need a proven background as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer with knowledge of (HVAC, Domestic Water Services, Steam & Condensate, Industrial Gases etc.) technical substantiation, computer aided design and engineering and demonstrable experience of having applied the whole design lifecycle.

Qualifications for the Mechanical Building Services Engineer:

A minimum of a Higher National Certificate in a relevant engineering discipline is essential.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
