Our client a major Oil & Gas operator are looking to add a Mechanical Technician to work from their Offshore platforms in the UK North Sea.
The successful candidate shall work as part of a team of trade technicians to manage the maintenance and operational monitoring of mechanical equipment to ensure safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and efficient operation offshore
This role operates on a 2 week on 2 week off rotation working 12 hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
â Complete scheduled trade maintenance activities as per the maintenance management system
â Maintenance to be completed using the company standards and procedures, minimising impact on production, and maximising plant availability
â Raise relevant permits within the agreed time frame and generate new work requests to highlight plant and equipment failure
â Manage and maintain Trade inventory of critical spares and stock equipment such that maintenance visits can be completed on schedule and equipment down time is minimised
â Supporting project activity and working with vendors and sub-contractors as required
â Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures
â Comply with and pursue requirements of Change Management Policies eg, Plant Modification
Proposals
â Employ Observation Safety Techniques (POST) to report unsafe acts
â Accept responsibility for all waste management tasks relating to individual activities at the Terminal eg cleaning up after tasks, waste monitoring and disposal
â Attend daily operations meetings, providing updates on planned SCE Maintenance, live defects and ongoing plans to remedy.

Key Requirements Include:
Qualifications:
- A recognised apprenticeship in relevant Engineering discipline
- HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering Discipline (preferred)
Experience
- A sound knowledge of machinery and mechanical equipment
- Experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical or related industry
- Broad experience of maintenance and fault finding on mechanical equipment
Personal Attributes:
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills to help rectify mechanical breakdowns
- Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks
