The Consulting team undertakes tailor-made commissioned assignments for a wide variety of clients, including governments, national oil and energy companies, multi-nationals, the finance sector, energy traders, upstream, mid and downstream independents, and clients in the consultancy and energy services sectors.

What will you be doing?
As part of the continued expansion of our practice , we are currently looking for a passionate, driven and e nergetic Power & Gas projects lead to build our practice.
Argus has a strong track record of offering bespoke consultancy services alongside our commodity market information publications - including oil products, petrochemicals, fertilisers, metals and renewable energy. We provide the industry's largest global companies with market due diligence, new market entry and supply/demand and price forecasting services worldwide. Argus is now seeking to extend consultancy services to clients of our European electricity and gas publications
This is an excellent opportunity to lead development of a new client consultancy offering, shape the team capabilities and offerings, and develop a client base .
Key Responsibilities
Practice development
You will have the opportunity to develop a new area of the consultancy practice. Leveraging Argus Media's industry connections, market coverage and sales capability, you will identify openings for market analysis consultancy and lead development of the client business development, capability and asset building needed to meet client requirements.
Project delivery
You will lead client engagements , managing the work of consulting teams to deliver analysis. Initially, you may be required to provide subject matter expertise to the engagements as the team upskills . This includes ensuring the quality and timeliness of the end-deliverable, and the overall client experience.
Business development
You will be responsible for working with Consulting leadership and the Argus sales team to develop a pipeline of work in the sector . This will involve educating the sales team to help them identify opportunities in the marketplace and helping them qualify leads and then developing proposals as required. It will also involve working with Argus' marketing department to promote consulting services through our publications and conferences.
People and Knowledge development
You will liaise with Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across commodity markets and to identify opp ortunities to promote services. You will be required to provide guidance to junior members of the team and provide subject matter training as required.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive prior experience in European gas and power, either within a consultancy or in industry, analysing market fundamentals
- Quantitatively capable with experience in developing gas and power price and supply/demand forecasting models
- Entrepreneurial mindset and dedication to finding innovative solutions to client challenges
- Educated to degree level (2.1 or above) from a leading university.
- Further education (e.g., MBA) a plus
- Highly numerate with experience analysing data quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus
- Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
- Capable of structuring and leading projects, including making a significant contribution to the sales process
- Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadline and to meet targets
- Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus' Consulting Services.
