Our client, a prominent player in the Oil & Gas and Construction industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. As a Procurement Manager, you will be at the forefront of their operations, responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services necessary for their projects.In this role, you will be the go-to person for market research and industry trends, identifying potential suppliers and sourcing strategies to optimise procurement operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and finance, you will play a key role in understanding project requirements and ensuring timely delivery.This role encompasses procurement execution and commercial strategy development from the initial concept to contract award, as well as tender and contract document preparation and tender process management.Key Responsibilities Include:
- Create new vendor files (including credit checks) as needed.
- Maintain existing vendor files and conduct audits as needed.
- Have knowledge and experience of UK procurement regulations (public and/or utilities contract regulations).
- Have experience with e-procurement systems.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts under the direction of the Senior Procurement Manager/Commercial Manager.
- Raise purchase orders and track delivery of goods and/or services as needed.
- Monitor supplier and contractor performance, manage the review process, and maintain records of performance.
- Effectively resolve quality issues within the supply chain.
- Maintain and update contract files and databases.
- Contribute to the development of the organisation's purchasing strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Have a strong background in the procurement life-cycle, including strategy development, tender preparation, and development.
- Have excellent experience with various forms of contracts, with a particular focus on NEC and JCT contracts.
A bachelor's degree in a construction-related field, such as quantity surveying, civil engineering, law, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification, is preferred.
