To support us along this journey we currently have a Project Delivery Engineer role available for a talented individual who can bring a mixture of knowledge and Forward thinking to help further evolve our solutions business. We currently have over 70 district heating schemes with a range of on-site generation and energy efficiency technologies which will ensure a challenge for any individual. Be it CHP, biomass boilers, new heat pump technologies or PV, we're leading the way in developing solutions fit for the future.
Here you will be primarily working at our District Energy Scheme sites across London which is part of our City Energy Solutions Business, managing engineering and performance improvement projects. You'll be responsible for the successful simultaneous project management of several complex projects from conception initiation to completion, or one larger project, generally in the London area. These complex engineering projects combine a range of different engineering technologies and are scoped to include M&E, civils, underground and above ground heat network works delivered by external and internal service providers under performance contract and competitive tender.
Key responsibilities include

Delivering projects on time, budget and profitably with safety as the highest priority through compliance with relevant HSE regulations and guidance including CDM regulations.

Ensuring a safe working environment by addressing safety issues and leading by example with visible safety leadership and encouraging a safety 1st at all costs attitude within all team members.

Completing performance and engineering projects all the way through from inception to project close-out including data analysis, recommendation, project scoping, third party engagement, following procurement and regulatory processes, time and resource management, safe site management, project review through to project close-out.

Monitoring and reporting to a high standard on project performance (time, cost, quality and safety).

Establishing good relationship with Eon customers to coordinate performance improvement projects, planned outages and required resilience during outages.

Managing accurately project budgets including variations and change requests for both customer and supplier. Liaising with procurement, legal and commercial teams as required.

Leading an agile team of Project Managers/Site Managers/Team Leaders/Contractors to successfully deliver project(s).
What we need from you

Educated to Degree level, or equivalent, in an Engineering/Science discipline.

Chartered, or working towards chartered status, with a relevant institution.

Project management skills and related experience with a proven track record on a variety of energy and/or M&E projects.

Ability to lead a small team of Project Managers and/or Site Managers.

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to ensure the most effective delivery of the project programmes.

Willingness to continuously improve and to share any learnings across functions.

Knowledge and experience of commercial and technical performance in power/heat plant including optimisation techniques and tools.

Thorough understanding, detailed experience, and formal training in C(DM) responsibilities.

Good oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with colleagues, contractors, customers, and senior managers.

Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format.

Working knowledge of standard and more advanced PC software tools (such as MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, modelling software, etc) and the ability and willingness to learn working with new software tools.
It would be great if you had

Experience in District Heating & Cooling.

Knowledge of various forms of contract that could be applicable to the variety of projects.

In-depth knowledge of commercial on-site generation technologies such as gas engines, High & Low voltage chillers, gas boilers, heat pumps, etc.

In-depth knowledge about other sectors relevant for energy projects (construction, civil engineering, services installation, IT, etc.).

The role is London based with travel to sites/offices as required.
