Akton are recruiting on behalf of a client who is recruiting Service Engineers to be responsible for the service, maintenance, commissioning, and breakdown technical support for customers. This role will be working with the service coordinators and engineering team to ensure to-day operations run smoothly. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Senior Engineer and Service Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily duties are carried out applying the Health and Safety system in compliance with government regulations and legislation.
• Report to the Senior Engineer / Service Supervisor with timely and accurate information.
• Assist the Senior Engineer / Service Supervisor in gathering and analysing information for customer / internal reports if required.
• Work closely with customers and other teams to ensure good levels of communication.
• Liaise with service coordinators and service supervisory team and keep up to date with calendar entries.
• Work on equipment in accordance with current regulations, guidelines, and manufacturer's instructions
• Reporting unsafe or potentially dangerous situations in line with codes of practice and company policies
• Provide clear concise documentation (service reports) to customers, and head office teams.
• Maintain individual van stock spare parts inventory.
• Carry out work to the guidelines set out in the company handbook.
• Provide customer service in line with mission statement.
• Carry out method statement and dynamic risk assessments where necessary.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Trained and experienced working with steam equipment and systems.
• Gas safe qualified
• Experienced working with gas and oil-fired combustion systems
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• General pipe fitting capabilities.
• Basic computer literacy (Outlook, word and excel)
• Digital controls experience/knowledge (Siemens LMV/vMPA and Autoflame)
